T 1 FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES 1 s e According to Frank Hawley, custodian of the jockey room, 138 different jockeys rode during the 112 days meeting. Hawley, who intends spending three weeks here vacation-1 ing, stated there were 567 different sets of colors used at the meeting. He leaves the latter part of April for Aurora, where he has charge of the jockeys at that track. Apprentice S. Hodges, a New Orleans boy, left for Arlington Downs, where he reported to W. A. Mikel, his contract employer. His contract was recently purchased by Mikel from E. K. Bryson. Tracy Reno left for Collinsville, 111., before going to Aurora to ride free lance. The maiden apprentice W. Miller and apprentice W. Roberts left Tuesday for Columbus, Ohio. E. B. Shipp decided to remain until April 10 before going to Beulah Park. Shipp has eleven horses here and when he forwards his stock the horses of J. Miller and A. Tempest will probably be included in the same car. Jockey L. "Tex" Wilson, one of the more successful veterans to perform here this season, intends to take a vacation at Collinsville, 111., before reporting to E. E. Keller, his contract employer. The five Keller racers, in charge of trainer W. Reavis, were included in the special that left Wednesday for Aurora.
