DANNY BRAMMER SENSATION Young Iowa Lad Now at Arlington Downs Promises to Develop Into Outstanding Rider. ARLINGTON, Texas, April 1. One of the current riding sensations at Arlington Downs, Is young Danny "Brammer, seventeen-year-old Grand River, Iowa, youth, who rode his first winner, Fair Time, at Bay Meadows, Calif., on April 10, 1935. Under contract to H. C. Hatch, prominent Canadian turfman, Lloyd Gentry, Hatchs trainer, j and Mrs. Richard Fairbanks, Brammer has piloted eight winners at the Waggoner track, bringing his total for the current year to sixty-one, and the form he has been displaying plus the fact he will be .astride some real horses indicates that he is destined for greater honors before the close of the spring meeting at Arlington Downs. Clay McConnell is credited with discovering the riding potentialities of Brammer last year and veteran horsemen who have witnessed the Iowa lad in action, declare him to be one of the finest jockey prospects on the North American continent. Brammer has an ideal seat on a horse, rides short and has that necessary balance which makes the difference between fair and great riders. He is a cool hand in a pinch, uses his hands to urge his mounts, but whenever necessary can bring out the bat at the crucial time. Incidentally, Brammer is one of the few ambidexterous hooters, being able to use the Whip with either hand. In his eight victories at the Waggoner track, as well as on every occasion he has been astride a horse, Brammer has shown a world of class.; He seems to inspire his mounts, and has gotten more out of them than previous riders. He has admirable courage and takes advantage of opportunities which more often less skilled riders are prone to let slip. In a driving finish the black-haired youngster can match ability with riders of much more experience and come out on top. Danny gives most of the credit for his development to Gentry, declaring that the former Texan has been most helpful in correcting some of the earlier faults in riding which he has successfully discarded. Brammer is a lad to watch this spring. Charley Zoeller, former jockey and a brother to Johnny Zoeller, one of the leading riders a decade ago, is making Bram-mers engagements.
