I AURORA TURF NOTES e General manager Robert S. Eddy, Jr., filed his check for a total of nineteen days tax with the Illinois Racing Commissions posted bond and formally made request of that body for the Fox Valley Jockey Club meeting beginning May 1 to May 22. Despite the cpurt controversy over the awarding of dates, the Fox Valley course is shaping its plans for the opening May 1. Racing secretary Richard Leigh received the nomination of My Auntie from Dick Watts for the Illinois Derby, 512,000 added, to be run on May 22 at Aurora. Watts will campaign the following horses at the Fox Valley oval: Dark Mist, Border Queen, Banish Fear, Mareve, White Legs, Masketier and Lady Greenock. H. O. Simmons made application for the following horses to be shipped here following the Arlington Downs close: Skippy Mc-Gee, Paper Profits, Mynah, Tornillo, Baby Witt and Linden Tree. He will train the following horses for E. Sigman: The Pelican, Witan, Inscription, Beginners Bait and Captain Logan. One express carload arrived at Aurora on Friday morning from Hot Springs, including the horses of William Day and the Moreland Stable. Dale Edwards is among the early jockey arrivals. Bobby Haber is another who checked in. Rains of Friday prevented any work oh the track and also hindered the progress of the work on the four new barns being constructed.
