EIGHTEEN IN OPENING -PRIZE Six Furlongs Sprint Chief Offering at Bay Meadows on Inaugural Program Predict Good Race. SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 11. Eighteen horses were nominated for the ,000 added opening handicap, six-furlong headliner that starts the Bay Meadows race meeting on its twenty-five day run next Tuesday, April 16. This promises to be one of the leading speed features of the meeting, with fit horses ready to compete. Eligibles include Campillo, California champion which gathered his honors in the title test at Santa Anita, bred and owned by Carlefon Burkes Greenfield Stable; Open Range, which won four in a row at Tanforan before meeting defeat, a rejuvenated New York horse; Bahamas, former California champion, now trying a comeback; Nilus, a handsome son of the famous Pompey, Futurity winner, and Cleopatra, one of Americas truly great race mares; Proclivity, fast improving three-year-old belonging to Norman W. Church; Cloud DOr, swift-footed sprinter, belonging to Mrs. W. T. Westrope; Fort Springs, from the same stable as Special Agent, Indian Broom and others.
