i MARE FOALS FILLY TO j j SURPRISE OF NEW OWNER i.---------- - . -A LEXINGTON, Ky., April 11. Karl H. Hanisch of Clayton, Mo., bought the mare Sun Hussy, by Sun Briar, out of the Willis Sharpe Kilmer consignment to the sale last November at Lexington sales paddocks. In the catalog it was stated that Sun Hussy had not been bred in 1935. A few days ago she foaled a filly. Mr. Kilmers office reports no knowledge of the mare ever having been bred and says the fillys sires identity is unknown, adding: "Some time last year the mare was leased to a Virginia military academy for a while. It has no thoroughbred stallions, as far as we know, and we personally made no provision for breeding the mare. We did not breed the mare and so it is quite probable that some of the students took it upon themselves to do a little breeding on their own." Mr. Hanisch has shipped Sun Hussy to E. K. Thomas farm near Paris, Ky., to be mated with Hi-Jack, and says he has abandoned hope that he can register her filly- of this year.
