WEBB EVERE1TS RAPID RISE Will Devote Entire Time to Santa Anita Track After Pilling Engagement at Detroit. SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 11. Webb A. Everett, who has advanced from a minor western racing official to one of the most noted men In the turf business In a very short space of time, probably made up his last race bill for San Francisco tracks when he framed the conditions of Saturdays program. After filling of an engagement as racing secretary in Detroit during the spring meeting, Everett will devote his time to serving the Los Angeles Turf Club, which controls Santa Anita. Officials of the southern plant recently tendered Everett a nice contract, the terms of which were accepted. Following the close of Tanforan, Everett will go to Los Angeles for a short visit before leaving for Churchill Downs to view the running of the Kentucky Derby. He will report at Detroit May 15 and following that meeting will visit eastern tracks in the interest of Santa Anitas third meeting. Everett will not be at Detroit for the fall session.
