POLY ROYAL, away slowly but quick to reach contention, forced the pace under good handling, forged to the front approaching the final eighth and outfinished CLUB SODA. The latter took command under hustling tactics, drew away after five-sixteenths, was put to good urging when challenged, gave way in the stretch, but held on tenaciously. MISS. ANTHONY, outrun early, worked her way forward steadily and finished strongly. DUCKIE ROSE showed a good effort. CYCAS, allowed to drop back when outrun and forced to lose ground throughout, held on well. SIR BOSTON stopped badly after reaching contention. DOROTHY W. was outrun. THE FIGHTER, away fastest of all but saved when outrun, was put to good urging when improving his position, was inclined to loaf during the final quarter, hut responded to strong pressure in the last stages and won drawing away. TTENNOB, strong factor from the start, moved into command nearing the final three-eighths, drew clear rapidly, was put to strong handling when threatened but tired near the end. HE DID began well, took command near the final half mile, was unable to draw clear, gave way when challenged and held on well. DORAN sprinted into a clear lead early, was allowed to drop back when outrun, came again in the last stages and finished strongly. MISS DIAVOLO raced evenly. MISS BAM was outrun. TUGBOAT FRANK, used up in reaching contention at a loss of ground, was done after five-eighths. IRISH FORD was outrun. Scratched 24527 Rushaway, 118. The latter saved ground throughout, was put to strong pressure after three-quarters, but quit in the last stages.
