Oaklawn Park had its most successful meeting in history from February 22 to April 4, a period of thirty-seven racing days, during which time 266 races were run, the jockey club distributed 47,360 and the daily average was ,982.70. Jack Carter, who trains the horses of William Schmidt, the Chicago owner, headed the list of money winners with ,815. C. N. Finch was second with ,215. Holl Image, the victorious three-year-old in the Arkansas Derby, was the leading money-winning horse, earning ,685. Ding Bin, with Axtel, one of the most consistent horses during the meeting, won ,225, while Axtel carried off ,975 for his owner. E. Porter had a good season with twenty-nine winners, to finish as the leading rider. Training honors went to C. N. Finch, who saddled thirteen victorious animals.
