BABY TALK, slow to settle in her best stride, gained steadily after going three quarters, swung to the outside when reaching contention and. finishing stoutly for the final test, wore the leaders down inside the closing eighth. SNOW FOX rallied stoutly when moving to the pacemakers, obtained a slight lead in the dosing eighth, but failed to withstand the winner under a hard drive. BADGE OF HONOR outran his field to the tirst turn, shook oft strong efforts from TWICE, but tired under punishment in the last quarter mile. BALTIMORE BOY broke slowly and was unable to enter a forward position. TWICE went strongly for the first three quarters, then tired. BLlE ALICE raced evenly. KEARSARGE went well placed, but failed to respond when the real test came. SLEEPY ROX was done after three quarters. The others were outrun. SANTI QLARANTI went into an early lead after clearing the eighth jump, opened up a long lead and, fencing boldly, held sway to the close. STIR, reserved for the first mile, entered contention after the ninth jump, but could not menace the winner. REIGHSTONE suffered repeated interference in the first mile, secured racing room in the late stages, but failed to threaten seriously in the final drive. CAESARS GHOST showed good speed for the first mile and a half, then tired. He fenced nicely all the way. MATAGAIN could not reach a forward position at any stage. TROYER showed speed in the first mile, then tired. FRANKIE C. was outrun. BRAD ran out of the course and lost his rider going to the sixth jump. BLACK FEATHER fell at the ninth jump. PEPPERY worked her way up on the outside and held on gamely in the final issue. ADO. shuffled back directly after the stmt, bettered his position steadily in the last quarter mile. GRACE BUNTING held a forward position early and held on well. MANUAL came very wide in the stretch. FOLLOW ON was unable to enter contention. LAURA S. was done after going a half mile. MISS FERN showed a flash of early speed. FIRE STAR met with interference at the turn on the back stretch. STORY TIME saved ground, but tired nearing the finish after making a stout bid. ALEXANDRINE was hard ridden all the way and showed a good performance. BRIEF was given a listless ride and was not persevered with until reaching the stretch. MALISPINA lacked her usual early speed and lost ground for the entire trip. MX K MODESTY was never a factor. APPREHEND, kept within striking distance of the leaders in the early running, moved up strongly entering the stretch, came throueh on the inside when engaging the leaders in the last eighth and drew out smartly after moving into the lead. FERVID worked her way up steadily on the outside, responded to punishment and outfinished CARELESS KNIGHT. The latter offered good contention while following PARVA STELLA and continued gamely in the last stages. FIRST PIGEON, slow to gain her racing stride, weaved her wav between horses to close a good eap. PARVA STELLA showed good speed while settine the early pace, but failed to stay when collared. PETER PUMPKIN moved up stoutly at the turn, but faltered thereafter. FLOSILDA went well for half a mile. The others were held safe. Scratched— 25345 Jilted. 104; 25308 Nairn, 105. REPEAL entered contention midway of the stretch, followed close to the pacemakers and continued well in the closinc drive. CHIEF HOLLIS was hurried to the front, showed good speed until challenged, then quit. MAD FRUMP dropped far out of contention and was unable to menace. BUDDY BOO went wide.
