1 CHURCHILL DOWNS N0TES g Sidney S. Brown, who serves as placing judge at Detroit, is here in the interests of the Detroit Derby. Brown reports having received many nominations for the mile and three-sixteenths journey, which carries 5,-000 in added money. Roscoe Goose sold the two-year-old Stairs to A. N. Goldberg. Ernie Moore acted for Goldberg in the purchase of the brown daughter of Hildur — Up and Down. Richard Friedrich, prominent San Antonio manufacturer who purchased several brood mares from judge C. W. Hay last winter and who plans establishing a large racing stable, purchased the three-year-old Marion Burr from Mrs. V. E. Berry. Marion Burr won her first race here last week. M. W. Buck, who shipped his stable of horses to Detroit from Arlington Downs, took over five two-year-olds to train for George Collins, Frankfort, Ky., breeder. The horses will be shipped to Detroit. Buck purchased six yearlings from Col. Phil T. Chinn and they will remain at Old Hickory Stud until late in the summer, when they will be taken up and prepared for the 1937 season,
