JOHN SLOAN REAPPOINTED ALBANY, N. Y., May 5.— Reappointment of John Sloan of New York City as a member of the State Racing Commission, was announced today by Secretary of State Edward J. Flynn. Under the new appointment, Mr. Sloan will serve for a full six-year term, expiring May 1, 1942. With the reorganization of the state racing commission in 1934, Mr. Sloan, long interested in racing in the state, together with John Hay Whitney and Herbert Bayard Swope, formed the new commission. The terms of the members under the new law were for two, four and six years, respectively. Subsequent terms are for six years, Mr. Sloans being the first reappointment.
