CAPITALIST, rushed to the lead on the outside and saving ground throughout, briefly gave way to RAMROD in the stretch, but holding on grimly, regained the lead in the final sixteenth and withstood BABESON S bid. The latter, forced to lose ground, improved his position gradually and wore down RAMROD in the closing strides. The latter, under restraint early, worked Ins way to the lead, but tired after reaching the last fifty yards. CHEROKEE RED. well up from the start and brought to the outside in the stretch, finished fastest. MONKS TIME and MAPLE RICCA began slowly. MARIE JEAN was outrun. IDLE VICTORY quit. BUSY LUTRECIA took command under strong riding, but came away easily after reaching the stretch and continued to draw out in the final eighth, where she was under steadying restraint. JAY BEE JAY, a factor from the start, swerved badly soon after entering the stretch, but closed well when straight and wore down COL. JULIAN in the last sixteenth. The latter, given a hustling ride and forced to lose much ground early, weakened in the late stages. MIBS showed a fair effort. OVERTRICK tired. LOCKSTEP was crowded back early. THREEMS could not improve his position. BUSY GIRL began fast but failed to hold the advantage. The latter was steadied along for three-quarters, raced around LORD DALTON gradually, and held on fairly well, but was not good enough. COHORT LASS, taken back repcatedlv, camo to the outside in the stretch and held on with cood courage. LORD DALTON tired. WISE DORA failed to keep up. PUDDIN HEAD began slowly. BARDOGA showed little. GINOCCHIO. hustled into the lead in the opening sixteenth, set a fast pace under strong handling and tired. BIOLOGIST raced wide. DELLOR tired. The others were never factors. MY BLAZE, used up in the pace, was inclined to bear out when tirine, but bold on well. WILD TURKEY raced evenly. AMAZING and HIT AND RUN were outrun. Overweight — Wild Turkey, 2 pounds.
