ADOLF began slowly, was forced to lose ground while moving to the leaders, took command inside the final eighth, then stood a severe drive to outfinish GORGEOUS LADY. The latter, never far back, lost some ground approaching the stretch, responded gamely to strong riding, closed fastest and probably would have won in a few more strides. SOURDINE began in motion, raced to a clear lead, continued gamely to the final eighth, then tired under punishment. GOLDEN PIGEON, a strong factor for a half mile, faltered when subjected to strong pressure. SWEET TODY could not keep up. LADY THIRTEEN broke well, but lacked speed. Scratched 24203 Wearwcll, 106. WISE BEAUTY, racing like a good filly, took command approaching the stretch, continued gamely and outfinished NAVARRE. The latter began fast, was in close quarters early, came fast when clear and finished resolutely. TONEYS GIRL, prominent from the start, responded gamely to strong riding, but was no match for the first two. CRULIA, forced back leaving the back stretch, moved up fast when clear. CARESAWAY failed to keep pace under hustling tactics. COPPER COIN had early speed. GOOD SELKA raced well for three-eighths. The others were outrun. Scratched 26174 Feczie, 116; Broadway Rage, 116. MONKS GOLD, in motion when the start was effected, raced into a commanding lead, continued well to the final eighth, then tired under punishment. INDIAN HEAD, a strong factor most of the way, held on well. JAZ AGE, well up for a half mile, tired in the stretch. FIELD DAY finished resolutely from a slow beginning. BIDDY was never dangerous. ADA W. tired after setting the early pace. CHESTNUT QUEEN, away slowly and outrun for a half mile, improved her position in the stretch passing tired horses. The latter took command at the start, continued well to the final eighth, where he was placed to severe punishment, but could not withstand the winner, though holding on with good courage. RAYMOND forced the early pace, but tired in the final stages. NOVETTE raced well for a half mile, then tired. GRAY JACK had no excuses. The latter, a strong factor throughout, disposed of ICEBERG in the stretch, but could not resist the winner. OICAN, under mild reserve for a half mile, moved up when urged, but faltered after reaching the leaders. ICEBERG set a good pace to the final eighth, then tired. JUST FRANK, taken under stout restraint early, failed to be a factor when placed to pressure. HARVEY, G. O. raced well for three-quarters, then tired. Overweight Just Frank, lg pounds. CAMPAGNA, under mild reserve while racing well up, moved up gradually when urged, offered stubborn contention and was gradually wearing the winner down. LISTENING closed gamely in a good performance.
