RIVERSIDE PARK OPENING Missouri Racing- Begins Today at Kansas City Track Inaugural Handicap Features Card. KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 27. With the opening of the Missouri racing season only hours away, the stage is all set for the Riverside Jockey Club to present the best meeting ever held in the "Show Me" state. As the feature of the initial program of the thirty-three-day meeting, the Inaugural Handicap is the principal offering, and has attracted the best field of horses that ever paraded to the post at this course. Of the original fourteen nominated for the Inaugural, but six accepted the weights to contest the 00 purse over the six furlongs route. Bold Lover, from the H. C. Rumage stable, was allotted top weight of 117 pounds, and no doubt will go to the post a heavy favorite. Coldwater, from the stable of R. F. Carman, Jr., and a stake winner at Bay Meadows, is in receipt of six pounds from Bold Lover, carrying 111. Heart Break, the sensation of the Fair Grounds meeting, from the stable of Coward and Coffey, is next in line, with 108, and Dr. J. A. Blackwells Get-along gets in with the same. Others to complete the field are Dr. C. N. Finchs High Devine, a double winner at Aurora, and Seraphic Knight. Supporting the feature is a claiming handicap, at one mile and seventy yards, for the better grade of distance performers, and this brings together a small but well-balanced field. The track proper is at its best and is expected to be fast on the opening day. The official family is already on the grounds, and as usual E. K. Thornton will again be the presiding steward. M. H. Morrison and G. D. Murphy will be the placing judges. Morrison will also act as racing secretary. The veteran Arthur McKnight will again dispatch the fields. B. Burton and Frank Kelley will act as patrol judges.
