TEMPESTUOUS SCORES AGAIN Earns Second Victory at Woodbine in King Edward Gold Cup Handicap Small Crowd. TORONTO, Ont., May 27. Carrying 116 pounds and forced to turn in one of his outstanding performances enabled Mrs. T. Stevensons chestnut four-year-old colt Tempestuous to add 15 to the coffers of his fair owner and score a most important victory despite the small monetary unit when he accounted for the thirty-second running of the King Edward Gold Cup Handicap, a gallop of one mile and a sixteenth, which topped the fourth program of the Ontario Jockey Club at Woodbine Park today. The score of the Stevenson colt, which was expected by the rather small crowd, came in a sinew-straining "finish and it marked his second victory of the present meeting and his fifth success this year when he drove to the finish a head before J. E. Smallmans Motley, with Donstick, from the H. C. Hatch barn, capturing third over the only other starters, Winged Flight and Shady Well, the latter a winner of the same event last year. A winner of the Trial Plate on opening day, Tempestuous conceded much weight to his opponents and received a well-judged ride from the veteran Frank Mann. Breaking in fourth place, Tempestuous had enough speed to chase along with the pace that was set by Donstick and down the far side of the track he vas hemmed in on the rail with Motley on the outside of him. Mann was patient with his mount, knowing that his charge had enough courage to overcome his precarious position when asked. Reaching the final turn, Motley was sent up by C. Hanford to displace Donstick and this move gave the ultimate winner more chance to become clear. On the turn for home Tempestuous set sail for Motley, which was unable to get over half a length in the lead and in a thrilling drive caused the Smallman gelding to fall prey in the last seventy yards. Motley was out ten lengths before Donstick as he stuck with the winner, while Winged Flight was beaten but a neck for the short end of the spoils as he easily led Shady Well. Conditions were again ideal for the sport that with the exception of the feature was mostly for the cheaper class performers on the grounds. Jockey D. Brammer was the riding star with a pair of winners that came in the first and fourth races. Starter T. Rowe announced that Sessna, Royal Duchess, Kid Glove and Rural Shower, named for the first, second, fourth and eighth races, will be placed on the outside position at the start of their respective races. ,
