ALGER MEMORIAL WORKOUTS DETROIT, Mich., May 27. Stand Pat, Marynell and Tugboat Frank, eligibles for Saturdays renewal of the Colonel Alger Memorial Handicap, were seen in useful trials over the good track at the Fair Grounds this morning. Stand Pat, which was an easy winner of the Wolverine Handicap, breezed a mile in 1:48 and Marynell covered the same distance in 1:46. Stand Pat was timed the half mile in :521s and the three-quarters in 1:19. Marynell, which was well in hand throughout, reeled off the half mile in :52 and the three-quarters in 1:18. Tugboat Frank, also a Detroit Derby nominee, was limited to a half mile test which he stepped in :49, breezing.
