The latter, forced to race on the outside, made a determined bid in the stretch, but was not good enough. GIFT O GAB, always forwardly placed, finished very fast. CHARLES J. gradually bettered his position and finished stoutly. TOE DANCER had good early speed, but tired. EILEEN O. closed a good gap. HAPPY FIND quit. ODERIC could not engage the leaders. DIXIE DORA had speed to take command immediately after the start, drew clear in the back stretch, was roused sharply in the stretch to shake off CARELESS KNIGHT and was kept under pressure to the end. CARELESS KNIGHT forced the early pace of the winner, made a determined bid in the stretch, but was not good enough. PEACE TOKEN lacked early speed to match the leaders, saved ground on the turns and finished stoutly. MINTHERA flashed some early speed, but tired at the end. TABHER could not engagl the leaders. GREATOREX went to the front at once, fenced stoutly throughout, drew into a long lead while under restraint and never left the issue in doubt. WILFRID G. had early speed while under restraint, was taken back for a turn of the field, then came on again to dispose of CELERITAS, but was no match for the winner. CELERITAS made a bad landing at the eighth fence, moved into second place after the tenth jump, bobbled again at the fourteenth jump and dropped back steadily thereafter. FAIR DIANA could never offer serious contention. PEKISKO lost her rider at the sixth fence. Overweight Pekisko, 5 pounds. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. The latter raced JAKE BLIEDEN into submission on the turn and just failed to last. WORTHING, always in a contending position, hung on gamely. NOBLE SPIRIT lacked early speed and could not engage the leaders when placed to punishment. BLACK FALCON was never a contender. ROSSELLI, a trailer until the final eighth, closed fastest. JACK PATCHES, breaking from the outside of the stalls, crossed to the inside immediately after the start, took command on the first turn, was rated in front throughout, but faltered badly in the final eighth. STANDOUT, in close contention, saved ground on the final turn and finished stoutly. ROCHE DOR ked good speed to set the pace, but tired in thefinal quarter mile. BLUE DAMSEL improved her position steadily and finished fast. MUSLET quit. MASONVILLE was done after thieequarters.
