KENTUCKY COMMISSION MEETS Approves Eeeneland and Churchill Downs Applications for Fall Dates Camden Chairman. LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 3. The newly-appointed Kentucky State Racing Commission met today for organization and action on! Kecneland and Churchill Downs autumn racing dates and the ratification of appointments of racing officials. AH members were present. Johnson N. Camden was chosen chairman, William E. Smith was named vice-chairman, and other members are Polk Laf-foon, Stephen Sewell Combs and Clarence L. Croan. Thomas R. Underwood continues as secretary, and Miss Marie Louise Wilson continues as assistant secretary. The offices remain in the Hernando Building, Lexington. Dates for Keeneland Associations inaugural meeting of nine days at the new course Thursday, October 15, to Saturday, October 24 were approved, and the application of Churchill Downs, Inc., for seven days racing Saturday, October 31, to Saturday, November 7 was granted. The following racing officials for the Keeneland meeting were approved: Stewards C. J. FitzGerald, Jr.. Louis A. Beard, Roy Carruthers, Brownell Combs, Richard H. Du-pree, A. B. Hancock, W. Arnold Hanger, J. O. Keene, Henry H. Knight, Charles G. Mid-dleton, Charles Nuckols and C. Barry Shannon. Mr. FitzGerald is to serve each day. The others will divide dates. Placing judges are Larry Bogenschutz, Sidney Brown, Fred Burton; clerk of scales Fred Burton; paddock judge Dr. C. Harold Holmes; patrol judges Walter Jones and S. Winter; timer William Cunningham; racing secretary and handicapper Charles J. McLennan; starter William Hamilton; track veterinarians Doctors Hagyard and Hagyard; superintendent of pari-mutuels Mort Shaw; track superintendent W. T. Bishop; general manager Roy Carruthers. Racing officials for the Churchill Downs meeting were approved as follows: Stewards Charles F. Price. C. Bruce Head, Sam H. McMeekin; placing judges Robert H. Shelley, Fred Burton and Harry Lindenberger; racing secretary and handicapper William H. Shelley; starter William Hamilton; clerk of scales Harry Lindenberger; entry clerk Fred Burton; paddock judges Thomas Oli-phant and Dr. S. A. Bradley; patrol judge J. S. Clark, and timer R. Quin Coger.
