EPSOM DOWNS TURF NOTES I 5 Entries for the Resaca Handicap, five and one-half furlongs dash for three-year-olds and upward, to be run October 7, close Monday afternoon at 6 p. m., according to the announcement by the secretary. Jack London, a recent arrival from Detroit, is confined to St. James Hospital in Houston as a result of developing a severe cold en route to Houston, which affected his bronchial tubes. Word was received by Owen E. Pons, paddock judge at Epsom Downs, of the grave illness of his sister, Mrs. Collins Day, at her home in Florence, S. C.
