GALE WAY ;vVas quick to get going, raced MORLEY FIRTH into defeat in the first half mile under strong handling, and outstayed CHEKA in the final drive. The latter worked his way up on the outside after a slow start, responded gamely to urging, but could not overhaul the winner. MORLEY FIRTH displayed goo I speed for a half mile, then tired. EL PUMA was well up throughout, saved ground- all the way and was best of the others. TORNADIC was through after showing speed for three-quarters. IMPEACH was far out of it most of the way.
