POMPOUS GENIE acted badly at the start, broke from outside the gates, took command rounding the first turn and was never headed, but was tiring in the final stages. HOPTOIT forced the pace throughout and finished gamely under hard urging. MANLY was blocked leaving the back stretch, continued on the rail and held SOME BOY safe. The "latter began slowly and closed a good gap. BALLYWISE trailed for the most part of the trip, then closed with a rush. ESKIMO was through after a half mile. Overweight Some Boy, 3 pounds.
