NEW YORK RACING SCENE SHIFTS TO JAMAICA NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct 3. Monday the New York racing scene shifts from Belmont Park, with its mile and one-half oval and its long Widener course through the stretch, to cozy little Jamaica and its mile track, where every stride of every race is within plain view of the patrons. The Metropolitan Jockey Club has made elaborate preparations for this fall season and there is no denying that the mile course is always a popular one with the racing crowd. For the opening day J. B. Campbell ha3 prepared an excellent card of six overnight races that will bring together nicely-balanced fields. Most of the horses have been seen in competition through the Belmont Park meeting, which came to such a brilliant close Saturday.
