LEROS, much the best, took the lead soon after the start, opened up a big lead and was well in hand in the closing stages. HIGH BOTTOM was a factor throughout, but was no match for the winner. BARNEY KEEN saved ground throughout and held on gamely under vigorous handling. JOBIOSO gained steadily in the final quarter and showed a good effort. OLEPAL tired. ALLEGORY acted badly at the gate, was taken to the outside for the start and was never a contender. OUR SPOT, quick to settle into his stride, drew into a safe lead quickly, was cleverly rated in front and held NO CHANGE safe. The latter broke swiftly and forced the pace for most of the trip. MARY CARMEN was rushed hard to reach contention in the first quarter, lost ground racing wide and tired. SHERATAN, lucky to get through on the inside, closed with a rush. LOUISE, never far out of it and lightly restrained to the stretch, responded gamely to hard urging in the final quarter, overhauled the leaders and held on well. REAPING forced the pace from the start under vigorous handling and showed a good effort. BACHELOR DINNER showed his usual early speed, was shaken vigorously when challenged, but tired in the final strides. SOUND ADVICE could not keep up in the early stages, lost ground entering the stretch and closed strongly. LITTLE NYMPH was urged vigorously in the last lixtccnth. Scratched 34498 Zuni, 100. PETER DIXON moved up with a rush leaving the back stretch, lost ground racing wide and held on well. BOURBON ROSE tired after reaching a contending position. GRAND SWEEP quit after five-eighths.
