GAY DOG, outrun for a half mile and lucky to secure racing room on the inside, responded well to strong urging in the final three-eighths and was up in the final seventy yards. EVERYBODY, well up from the start and under slight restraint, disposed of FANLE inside the final eighth, "but could not hold the winner. FANLE had good early speed, but could not draw clear and tired slightly near the end. SCREAM, outrun early, closed with good speed on the outside. PREFERRED raced wide to the final eighth, where, coming to the inside, he finished with good courage. SASSAFRAS quit after five-eighths. LEVI COOKE forced the pace for five-ciehths and then faltered. OURAY tired badly after a half mile. FRIEND JOHN offered a mild challenge after five-eighths and then tired. JOLYON, on the outside throughout, was weakly handled in the closing stages. EARLY DAWN quit. CERVEZA was outrun.
