LONG SEASON FOR WASHINGTON Stage Racing From May 30 to October 3 if Portland Downs Accepts Dates Offered. SEATTLE, Wash., March 31. There will be continuous racing in the state of Washington from May 30 to October 3, inclusive, if the Portland Downs organization, which has been unable to procure dates in the Oregon city, accept dates that have been offered to them at Vancouver, Wash., just across the state line from Portland. At a meeting of the Washington Horse Racing Commission on Wednesday morning, the following dates were approved: Vancouver, Wash., May 30 to July 4. Longacrcs, Seattle, July 3 to September 6. Playfair, Spokane, September 6 to October 3. In each instance the schedule will be a five-day week, Mondays and Tuesdays being the off days.
