HILSINGER moved up fast in the middle of the track after leaving the back stretch and, getting to the front in the stretch, had enough left to hold SAN ANSELMO. The latter made up ground in the stretch and was gaining at the end. RIPELE raced wide in the stretch, but was going gamely at the end. FAIR HEART tired after getting to the front. PALLIATION was forced to race wide in the early stages and dropped back behind horses in the stretch to lose all chance. SKY BINGO threatened in the stretch, then tired. SALFORD quit badly. PELTER had speed from the start and, coming gamely on the outside through the stretch, bested MARGIEBELL narrowly in a drive. The latter was always well up and, going strongly to the end, barely missed. GOLDIES PRIDE broke quickly and opened up a good lead while making the pace, but could not resist the first two. COMMENDABLE was in close quarters soon after the start. WACKY JACK was in close quarters soon after the start and had little chance. GLORY DAY, CLAUDIAN and FOLVOS PRINCE were forced to race wide. SILVER SICKLE got to the front early and, well rated thereafter, was never in serious danger, drawing away in the stretch. SIGN UP was caught in close quarters early, but closed ground steadily when clear and, although bumped by HOUR RAP in the stretch, outfinished the latter. HOUR RAP closed ground under urcing and was going well at the finish. PASS UP was used up trying to head SILVER SICKLE and tired near the finish. HAUOLI had early speed. ACHIEVE showed good speed and, saved in the early stages, drew away when ready in the last quarter and finished far in front. FLINTRIDGE was off poorly and made up much ground to show a good elfort. RADIO HOUR had good early speed, but tired in the stretch. QUOTUM closed some ground. SNAP JUDGMENT was never a dangerous contender. IRON MOUNTAIN was done after going three-quarters. JOEY trailed the field for half the distance, then came fast on the outside in the stretch to catch LT. GREENOCK in the closing strides. LT. GREENOCK, never far away, made a strong move on the outside in the stretch and raced well to the end. GROG outran HAPPY KNOT when the latter was under restraint early and held on fairly well. HAPPY KNOT was outrun by GROG in the early part, received but little help from his rider and tired in thejast eighth. CLEAN OUT was slow to get going and was eased up reaching the pace.
