COUNT COTTON, away fastest but shuffled back early, improved his position fast when straightened, responded fast in the drive and was up in the final stride. RAFFLES LAD subdued EXPLORER after five-sixteenths, drew clear rapidly, increased his advantage in the stretch, but tired fast near the end. ROYAL COMMAND worked its way forward steadily and finished strongly. DECLARATION weaved his way forward through the field and closed with a rush. DIXIE FOX raced wide and tired. MARGARET NADI hustled to the front, established a clear lead early, swung wide entering the stretch, came again when straight-end, but tired near the end. CROWNED HEAD, away slowest and outrun for three-eighths, moved up fast on the outside and closed with a rush. SCRIP MONEY moved up fast after five-sixteenths, reached the lead on the inside in the stretch, but tired rapidly in the final sixteenth. FLIGHT OF GOLD made up ground. PARGO worked its way forward steadily, was sent to the inside lor the drive, but tired near the end. HIP BOOTS, weakly ridden and taken back repeatedly for five-eighths, tired in the final eighth. AUREBON was done after a half mile. WITCH LORE showed nothing. BRILLIANT ROSE failed to improve her position under good urging. JERDAN was done after a hall mile.
