GRISWOLD FUNERAL FRIDAY Former Partner in Old Rancocas Stable Dies Once Coney Island Jockey Club Director. NEW YORK, N. Y., March 31 Funeral services for Frank Gray Griswold, one of the outstanding sportsmen of America, will be held Friday, at 2:30 oclock in the chapel of St. Bartholomews Church, Park Avenue and Fiftieth Street. Mr. Griswold, who was 82, died Tuesday at him home, 783 Park Avenue. He was one of the first stewards of The Jockey Club and was closely associated with Pierre Lorillard when that great turfman owned the Rancocas Stable. He represented Lorillard abroad when Iroquois won the Epsom Derby in 1881. He was the author of numerous books on horse racing, steeple-chasing and other sports, all of which are considered authoritative. His most famous sporting work was "Race Horses and Racing." He was at one time a director of the old Coney Island Jockey Club and of the National Horse Show. He was a polo enthusiast and a member of the Meadowbrook Club. Ho wrote several books on polo and polo ponies.
