MARIA JULIET went to the front after racing a quarter and, taking a long lead when ready, was used up all through the final sixteenth. PATRICK B. was well up most of the way and showed a creditable effort. SKY FOLLY was taken up when in close quarters on the inside nearing the far turn, but came again in the stretch. APOLLO lacked early speed, but was racing nicely at the finish. SISTINA, in close quarters after being headed, was taken back and was nevei dangerous thereafter. EMIGRANTE was saved close to the pace of MARCHLINE and IDLE LAD in the early part and, catching them on the outside after entering the stretch, went on to win" under urging. MARCHLINE liked the going and. after showing a fine turn of early speed, held on well. IDLE LAD was fractious at the post, but raced ; well and finished gamely. GEORGE RENFROE was racing strongly at the finish. LO was through after going a half mile. SOUEASTER was started from outside the stalls. BILL BANE was taken up when in close quarters next to the rail in the stretch. BEAU THOR made a move on the far turn, but tired. SKY LANTY dashed to the front early to open up a good lead, but tired near the end and could not withstand the winner. FLORAGINA was a strong contender for five-eighths, but tired. NEDROB had no excuse. RETURN CHECK was unable to keep up and was in close quarters on the far turn. The others were never serious contenders.
