I. HANFORD RIDES FOR WARD LOUISVILLE, Ky., Apr. 5 Jockey I. Han-ford, the o: !y apprentice ever to win a Kentucky Derby, is at Churchill Downs to do the riding for the stable of horses which Sherrill Ward trains. Hanford, who hails from Omaha, rode to fame astride M. L. Schwartz Bold Venture in 1936. Hanford, who rode for a time this winter in Florida, reported to Ward at Columbia, S. C, about a month ago and then accompanied the sta-"ble when it was transferred to the Downs last week. Hanford will ride at about 105 pounds.
