FAIR GROUNDS DISTRIBUTION 1 62 6, 03 5 Allotted at Long Winter Meeting of the Louisiana Jockey Club. The Louisiana Jockey Club, which opened its long: winter meeting: on November 25, distributed 26,035 during the 113 days of racing at the Fair Grounds track. The daily average distribution was ,540.13, which was an increase of 20 a day over the 1936-1937 meeting. To Clyde Troutt went the honor of money-winning owner and training honors as well. He saddled, twenty-four horses under his colors for winning races, had twelve finish second and thirteen third, to earn 6,150. The stable of Mrs. A. M. Creech was a close second to the Illinois turfman, the horses of this establishment garnering 6,025. E. K. Bryson was the only other owner toy earn a five-figure amount when the horses in his barn earned 2,175. Wise Fox led the horses in money won by virtue of his splendid triumph in the Louisiana Derby. The A. G. Tarn representative earned ,510 in his lone engagement of the meeting. Zevson accounted for six purses, including three stakes, to earn ,345. Chance Kay won ,865 to finish third in line. Jockey R. L. Vedder booted seventy-seven winners home during the long meeting, to finish well out in front for the riding championship. His closest rival was V. Nodarse, who rode sixty winners out of the 347 mounts Tie accepted. The honor of leading trainer went to Clyde Troutt.
