MARTY MUTUEL MANAGER SAN MATEO, Calif., April 7. Walter Marty, well known western mutuel manager, has been engaged to head the pari-mutuel department at Tanforan during the coming spring meeting at the Marchbank plant. Marty, who formerly served as both general manager and mutuel manager at Tanforan, replaces C. L. Harding, who has headed the totalizator department for the past two years. Marty, a native San Franciscan, is one of the best knoVn as well as one of the most capable calculators and mutuel men in the turf business. He has headed plants at Longacres, Play Fair Park, Spokane and other western race tracks at various times.
