j WAR ADMIRAL AT BELMONT J NEW YORK, N. Y., April 7. War j Admiral, champion three-year-old of ! 1937, arrived at Belmont Park Wednesday night after a journey in j which he narrowly escaped injury by fire. The son of Man o War shipped j from the farm at Berlin, Md., and was twice delayed by accidents to the J van. Then another vehicle, carrying j other horses from the Riddle stable, j caught on fire. It was the van directly J in front of that which transported J War Admiral. None of the horses in the van that took fire was hurt, j George Conway, trainer of the J champion said he was in excellent j condition. He refused to make any j statements in regard to the proposed . j match races with Seabiscuit at Bel- I mont and Arlington Park. .4
