i CHARLES BURKES CHANGES I IN DERBY BOOK 4 ST. LOUIS, Mo., April 25. After the performances of several of the leading Derby I candidates on Saturday, especially the races of Fighting Fox and Nedayr, Charles Burke, prominent winter book operator, revised his line and reduced Stagehand to 5 to 2, and still favorite, the position the Maxwell Howard colt has held since the first odds were made public. Fighting Fox now second choice at 5 to 1 with many takers, while Dauber is still being backed with confidence is next in the esteem of the St. Louis commissioner at 6 to 1. The smart performance of the Calumet Farm representative, Bull Lea, a few days ago, in which he set a new mile and a sixteenth track record at Keeneland in his first outing of the year, sent his odds down to 8 to 1, and many takers. Menow and Nedayr are now 10 to 1, Bourbon King 15 to 1, Mountain Ridge 10 to 1, Lawrin 12 to 1, The Chief and Redbreast 20 to 1. Among others that are probable starters in the May 7 classic, Gov. Chandler is 25 to 1, and Cant " Wait 30 to 1.
