t BAY MEADOWS NOTES Edwin J. Brown, chairman of the National Racing Commissioners, will leave California for a few days to be present at the annual dinner given by the members of the Thoroughbred Club of America. Another stable to take up quarters at Tan-foran was that of F. A. Carreaud, which was in charge of trainer S. F. Baez, who loaded La Sorpresa, Chardash, Cavallone, Bakers-town, Parmenarch and one other. The movement of these shipments kept the pony express van of H. Bedford rather busy during the day. Trainer A. J. Maloney, acting for Mrs. Lillian Maloney, his wife, purchased the four-year-old filly Sporting Green from Mrs. Rose Cooper, who was represented in the transaction by Ross Cooper. Terms were "private.
