CONTINUE DAILY DOUBLE New "Tote" Will Have No Effect on Popular Aurora Feature. Fox Valley Course Noted for Record Odds in "Doubles" Date of Inaugural Near. AURORA, 111., April 25 Installation of the American totalizator by the Fox Valley -Jockey Club management at Aurora wont force their "Daily Double" bettors to change their habits lor the meeting opening next Monday, May 2, and continuing for four weeks. Aurora and record "Double" pay-offs are almost synonymous. The Fox Valley track was first of the Chicago tracks to install the extra pool on the second and third races.. It has remained on the second and third ever since at Aurora and will be on those events again this year. Three times last year wise or lucky handicappers went home from the Aurora track with their pockets full of "Daily Double" money. BIG PAY-OFFS. On May 19 the combination of Polante Seth and Canusee was worth ,663.60 to the winners. Nine days earlier Runaway Target and Super Luck combined to produce a ,285.50 ticket. On May 8, Poppinalong and Beryl King paid off at 37.60 for each "invested in the "Daily Double" cardboards. These three rated with the highest pay-offs of the racing season. In addition the Fox Valley Jockey Club will again feature the "Quinella" on the last race of the day. The "Quinella" is an exclusive Aurora feature and the one-two or two-one picking has proved popular here. On opening day and on each of the four Saturdays of the meeting the "Quinella" will be on the eighth race. On week days there will be but seven contests each afternoon. The staff to man the giant totalizator will be chosen on Thursday of this week, according to Witfield Brooks of Madison County, Illinois, in charge of the "tote" department. Brooks has set 2 p. m. Thursday as first roll call for the mutuel clerks. By the end of the week the official family will be complete and everything awaiting the bugle call for the opening of the season.
