POTTAGE, rated close to the pace for three-quarters, responded readily to strenuous urging thereafter, assumed a clear lead and outstayed FAIREST FLAG. The latter worked her way up between horses, came to the outside in the final quarter and closed strongly. FOR ROMANCE, hard hustled throughout, showed a good effort and held on well in the drive. NOGALO, well up to the final eighth, tired thereafter. DARK MIST, away slowly and far out of it for five-eighths, improved her position steadily thereafter and closed strongly. ENTREE showed brief early speed. LADY DEDLOCK broke slowly arid was never a factor. Overweight Winifred West, 1 pound.
