1 JAMAICA TURF NOTES S- : s Pete Christensen arrived from California and will remain for the season. Ninety-six layers cut in for the week-end, the greatest number of the present season. Milo Shields arrived from California with the horses which he will race for . Miss Aileen Pendergast. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bragg, who have several horses here in charge of trainer Don Cameron, left for JLexington to inspect several farms in that section. Stake blanks for Empire City were distributed among horsemen Friday by Francis Dunn. The nominations to the stakes close on Monday, May 16. News from Havana is to the effect that Oriental Park opened its summer meeting last Saturday with six races. Racing will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays until mid-summer. Books and mutuels are employed. North Riding came out of her last race badly cut about the legs and will be idle for a short spell. Matt Brady will take several horses to Pimlico for W. J. Zeigler. They have stake engagements there. Jockey N. Wall will accompany the division. John Hertz made his first appearance of the meeting. He came out to witness his starters Saturday. John Kermath arrived from San Francisco by plane and will remain for several days. He is in quest of additional racing material for California patrons. George Walsh, who trains the horses owned by his brother, Raoul, arrived from California on business. Trainer Bill Brennan said that Redbreast, owned by the Greentree Stable, will be shipped to Keeneland, to join the division that John Gayer has there.
