BELMONT ARRANGES REFUND Money to Be Returned for Reserved Tickets Not Used on Decoration Day — Program Attractive. NEW YORK, N. Y., May 26.— C. V. Whitney, vice-president of the Westchester Racing Association, said after the match race , was called off: "Naturally it is a great source of disappointment to us that the War Admiral- Seabiscuit special race has been called off. I It was a race demanded by the public, and 1 every arrangement and convenience in admission price and plant had been made for popular public participation. "Charles S. Howard, owner of Seabiscuit, asked the abandonment because his horse j has become sore and his training as a result was unsatisfactory. "Therefore, as a protection to the public, which is certainly entitled to a real contest; 1 as a protection to the horse, which might be | irreparably broken down were he to continue | training or attempt to start in the race, and j as protection to the turf in general, the | match race was called off. SEVEN-RACE CARD. "Reserved tickets already purchased for I the May 30 race program will be good on j Decoration Day. Money for tickets not used on Decoration Day will be refunded at the offices of the Westchester Racing Association, 250 Park Ave., New York. "The program on Decoration Day will be composed of seven races, including the Juve-! nile Stakes, for two-year-olds, and the Corin-! thian Steeplechase, regular holiday features | for Decoration Day, which always is the most popular racing day of the year at Belmont Park."
