BARCARDI SWEEP, reserved off the pace and under restraint for three quarters, responded when called upon thereafter, wore down CAPTAIX DAXGER inside the last eighth and then stalled off VIX XOIR. The latter, badly outrun for three quarters, moved up thereafter on the outsde, came out for the drive and, closing boldly, was getting to the winner. CAPTAIX DAXGER, quick to take command, made the pace under a snug hold, drew out on the second turn and tired badlv in the last eighth. WARDELL ORMOXT, in hand for five-eighths, failed to respond when called upon. RED ARIL was through after five-eighths. Scratched— 57629 Spickeen. 103; 57508 Jules Lazard, 108. LA MOXTE. quick to take command, was steadied along while making the pace, was briskly roused entering the stretch, drew out and won with something left. SWIFT SPOT, never far back and in hand early, was put to strong pressure after reaching the stretch turn, out finished HELEN MACAW, but could not menace the winner. HELEN MACAW, well up from the beginning, was under occasional light pressure to hold her position and held on fairly well in the drive. FAIR VOLTA. b: dlv outrun for almost a half mile, came to the extreme outside for the drive and closed full of run. CHICKEN LADY raced wide. SKIPPY McGEE, reserved off the early pace, moved up on the outside entering the stretch, responded to urging thereafter and, after disposing of INCOGNITO, held MISS ADAMS safe. The latter, slow to begin, gradually improved her position after a quarter, came to the extreme outside for the drive and closed stoutly. INCOGNITO made the pace under good rating, was sharply roused after reaching the stretch and tired in the last eighth. M. J. BRENNAX saved ground and closed well under pressure. SERVANT PRIDE, under occasional pressure to hold his position early, was given a breather on the turn and tired in the last quarter. LUCKINGO, away well, took command after a quarter without need of strong pressure, was in hand until reaching the stretch, held on well to the bst sixteenth and, though no match for the winner, was best of the others. ALMAC, in hand for five-eighths, was hard ridden thereafter, but could not menace the leaders. PUNDIT, under good restraint for five-eighths, saved ground throughout, but tired in the last quarter.
