TORCHEEN sprinted into the lead at once and, fencing well, was steadied along under steady restraint the first mile, then drew clear thereafter and was never seriously threatened. DON BROWN raced forwardly placed throughout and closed gamely, but was no match for the winner. RIVER CREST was well placed and had no mishaps. FARU worked way forward threateningly after going three-quarters, then faltered and pulled up sore. RURAL SHOWER, outrun the first mile, made up ground thereafter.
