HIGH PLACE raced to the front at once, opened up a big lead and dominated the running throughout. FRIENDLY PAUL was slow to settle into his best stride, worked his way up gradually and came with good energy through the stretch. ELLIPTICAL, in closest pursuit of the pace early, tired slightly during the last three-sixteenths. FIDDLE FADDLE came with a belated rush through the stretch after having trailed far back early. LUNSFORD took command in the first sixteenth, met determined early opposition from MR. BUDDY, then disposed of him to draw clear and held sway to the close. MANY MOONS, close up throughout, held on with good courage to the close. GALA STAR was in the first flight throughout and, while unable to reach the leader, continued with good energy to the close. STORY TIME was slow to begin, but closed an immense gap. LADY PATROL was hard ridden early, but ws unable to reach the leaders arid, was blocked nearing the stretch when beginning to improve her position. MR. BUDDY tired after disputing the lead during the opening three-eighths. WHOOPER was unable to engage the leaders at any time. SPITTENIMAGE was under slight restraint while following along in. near attendance of the leaders for the first half mile, responded gamely to pressure when reaching the stretch and, in a hard fought finish through the last sixteenth, outlasted IRENES BOB at the end. The latter, prominent from the start, responded gamely when placed under urging and held on stubbornly to the close, although not quite good enough. FAIR TIME moved up stoutly approaching the stretch, but was unable to close any ground on the leaders thereafter. MASKED GAL, slow to begin, moved up stoutly on the turn from the back stretch, then continued with good courage to the close. STAROGAN was well placed from the start, but was unable to go along with the leaders in the closing test. MISS MARTIS ran away three-eighths while on the way to the post, then had speed for the first half mile. ,. . NEVER RIGHT was allowed to drdp out of it and trailed until the last three-eighths, then came to the outside when rounding the stretch turn and, closing with a rush, was going away at the end. GREEDAN, under slight restraint during the first half mile, moved up readily to supplant. DIANAPAT from the lead and, while holding on stoutly, was unable to cope with the closing challenge of the winner. SILENT WITNESS, reserved early, came willingly in the stretch drive,, but was unable to endanger the first two. DIANAPAT displayed good speed for the first half mile, but faltered through the last three-sixteenths. FLYING JACK was unable to reach the leaders. FIFTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. PUMPGUN closed a good gap after being outrun during the first three-eighths. PORDINA lacked her usual early speed and was never able to endanger the leaders. GHOST TRAIN trailed. LIBERTY TORCH, under steadying restraint until leaving the back stretch, moved up .steadily when called upon and, moving up on the outside of AFFIRMATION when reaching the stretch, wore down the latter to draw clear in the last eighth. AFFIRMATION, unruly at the post, was started outside the stalls, moved up steadily, disposed of HOUSEKEEPER for the lead when nearing the stretch and, despite holding on well, was unable to go along with the winner when challenged. HOUSEKEEPER opened up a good lead in the initial quarter mile, was rated along under slight restraint, tiring slightly after going three-quarters. HISTORIC ERA, in close quarters at the first turn, was forced to take up nearing the far turn and was never in a position to endanger the leaders. BOB C. had brief early speed. TIEMPO raced to the front soon after the start, opened up a commanding advantage and, steadied in front went wide in the stretch, met a determined bid from WHIPPER CRACKER, rallied gamely through the last sixteenth to last. WHIPPER CRACKER trailed his field into the back stretch, began bettering his position gradually, moved up menacingly when reaching the stretch, only to hang under punishment in the closing drive. FLAG SONG, outrun until the last three-eighths, began bettering her position at a loss of ground and finished willingly on the extreme outside through the stretch. PRINCE DEAN, reserved early, moved up willingly when called upon, although unable to make up any ground through the stretch run. BRIGHT MELODY was restrained for the first ; three-quarters, then came willingly in the closing quarter mile. SUN ASIA, prominent early, tired.
