WARINGA, outrun the first three-eighths, was placed under strong urging rounding the far turn, moved into command with a rush and, on the inside for the stretch run, easily held GOLDKIN safe. The latter, under good rating, went slightly wide turning into the stretch, but held on gamely in the drive. NAMEOKI, hustled from the start, was unable to improve his position in the final stages under strong pressure. FLETUS, under strong restraint and steered to the inside for the final drive, tired in the closing sixteenth and bled. UNCLE MITCH raced on the outside throughout. GOODBYE BLUES had early speed. CHI CHI lacked speed. R. L. BAKER was through after five-eighths. THIRTEEN STARS, under strong restraint for a half mile and on the extreme outside turning into the stretch, was under strong urging in the final eighth and outgamed HOME WORK in the final strides. The latter, never a great distance back and under strong pressure in the drive, outgamed CHARMING SIR, but could not withstand the winner. CHARMING SIR, on the inside under occasional pressure early, stood a long drive gamely. WARDELL ORMONT finished gamely. LITTLE KIEV broke well, was shuffled back after the first turn, raced gamely to the end and improved position to finish gamely. BOBBIE EASTER had no mishaps. GANNONNIC failed to respond to strong urging. BRILLIANT GLOW, DEMANDING and SPICKEEN quit.
