OPENING OFFICE ON MONDAY Sidney Brown to Take Charge of Preliminary Details of Coming Meeting at Keeneland. LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 6 According to word received today by president Hal Price Headley, assistant racing secretary Sidney S. Brown was leaving Chicago Saturday and will open racing secretary Charles J. Mc-Lennans office tl-e following day. Mr. Head-ley announced the office would be open all day Sunday in order to expedite the registration of the more than 300 hors: expected to unload here Saturday and Sunday. Horsemen are requested to put in their badge lists as soon as possible in order that this work can be speeded up and all badges issued before opening day. Track superintendent William Bishop is ready for the influx of horses and all stalls have been bedded down to take care of the 516 horses, which is the full capr-" of stalls at Keeneland. Bishop has allotted the stabling accommodations and horsemen who are coming here have already been notified as to the stables ready for occupancy. While plans are going along to hour: the thoroughbreds for the third fall meeting at the Keeneland Association, president Head-ley is at his desk daily looking after other details. Nothing has been overlooked to make this the most successful sc ion in the history of the local plant, which opened its first meeting in the fall of 1936. Many officials recruited to handle the racing end are already in Lexington or vicinity and by Monday morning the official family will be complete.
