SURE MISS, hustled hard to hold a forward position, moved to the front on the turn, withstood a stout drive willingly and barely lasted long enough to stall off MYSTIC ISLE. The latter, starting slowly, worked his way forward stoutly, entered contention when reaching the stretch, closed determinedly and just missed. ROMAUNT was a strong factor after being displaced and held on gamely. RACING EDITION was ridden hard throughout and continued with good energy while saving ground. AIR EDDY circled his field and finished with good speed. PRETTEIA made a weak effort midway of the turn, then tired. SIR TIME lost ground in the late stages. BROOMORIA showed a flash of early speed. GRASS CUTTER, outrun for three-eighths, moved up fast when reaching the turn, came through between horses entering the stretch, wore down DOG FLOWER inside the final eighth and was under strong urging at the end. DOG FLOWER set a fast pace, saved ground and continued with good courage when caught. SUNNYSHORE reached a forward position with a rush after starting slowly and came with good energy nearing the finish. SLOW MOTION, a stout factor throughout, met with slight interference in the stretch drive. SEPTLME failed to rally when the real test came. JOANNY was squeezed back rounding the turn. The latter, racing stoutly to hold a forward position, came to the outside and finished with good courage. OUTDONE had good speed while setting the pace, but tired in the last quarter mile. WISE LADY, unable to keep up after breaking clear, could not threaten in the final drive. ORCADES closed stoutly from a slow beginning. RISENFLY broke slowly and was unable to enter contention. SCHLEY NURSE was raced forwardly all the way and held on well. DARK MAY, shuffled back going to the first turn, finished willingly when clear. MAHLETTE, away very slowly, closed a big gap. OUTBOARD was made entirely too much use of in the first seven-eighths and flattened out badly. RIVER DEE was blocked at the start and was unable to threaten. CRUSAND tired. MISS HOLLYWOOD quit. PERNIE outran his field to the first turn, had much taken out of him racing BROWN MOTH ino submission, but held on resolutely under severe punishment. REHEARSAL was taken up sharply going to the first turn when squeezed by the leaders and was permitted to settle in stride, but could not threaten in the final issue.
