PETER P., never far from the pace, was hustled through the stretch to catch CHIEF PILOT in the last sixteenth and won going away. CHIEF PILOT raced to the" front early to open up a good lead while setting the pace, but could not hold the winner. PAT W. was well up all the way. VALINA closed ground.. DANDY VALE vas forced to race very wide in the stretch. TULEBY, off rather slowly, was taken back repeatedly when in close quarters. DOLAWAY had some early speed. SEVERE, outrun early and in close quarters after entering the stretch, found an opening in the last eighth to get to the front and held sway to the finish. RED CHECKER finished with a rush and was gaining on the winner. SUPPLY MAN had speed from the start and held on gamely in the final drive. SASSAFRAS closed much ground in the stretch. RICKEY ROO lacked his usual early speed, then made a game bid" while racing wide in the stretch, but faltered near the finish. MARY CARMEN did not get going until too late. SKY BREEZE, rated within striking distance of the early leaders, came very fast to catch them tiring turning for home and drew out with ridiculous ease in the last eighth. CLEOS PRIDE, hard ridden throughout, showed a good effort and was going gamely at the finish. JOE EATON closed ground while racing wide. BELLES LAST met with some interference at the start, was used up catching and heading LOOK OUT BELOW and tired. LOOK OUT BELOW leaped out of the. gate just as the start came to interfere with several horses, then tired after showing early speed. ADIRONDACK. BLIND BLARNEY and BLACK BONNET suffered interference at the start. OVLOP was off poorly when his rider was seemingly caught napping. Scratched 68542 Florence B. F., 103. BELLOS closed a gap in the last quarter. FAIR KALEH had early speed and dropped back after being in close quarters on the far turn. BYRDFORD lacked the speed to keep up and was never dangerous. The latter was permitted to drop back after going half the distance, but came again in the stretch to challenge in determined fashion. BON FUME made up some , ground under urging in the stretch. CHIEF MENTEUR had early speed and had no excuses, tiring in the stretch. LISA BELLE was outrun and was not hard ridden. ALBINO raced wide. PROUD INDIAN tumbled and could not keep up.
