NEW ENGLAND SEASON FINALE Last Program of Year at Narragan-sett Park Today, With the Jamestown Purse the Feature. PAWTUCKET, R. I., Nov. 18 The New England season will end tomorrow at Nar-ragansett Park, after running for a period of 201 days. The day will mark the end of a six-day extension period at the plant outside of Providence. No stakes were carded for the extended period, but racing secretary Bob Shelley is offering an interesting feature in the six furlongs Jamestown Purse, an overnight event, which carries a purse of ,500. Half a dozen have been named overnight, despite muddy track conditions, and this mornings fog, which prevented many horses from "blowing" out. The field is a closely-matched one, with Cardinalis looming as a slight choice. He has been going well here and likes mud. Principal contention is expected to come from the hard-running Silverette, also a mud runner of ability, and a horse which is on keen edge at present. Gay Balko won here Wednesday, and may be hard to down at the distance. Marson can handle the going. In fact, there does not appear to be a really long-priced horse in the field, with the S. O. Richardson and Charles Gentry entry of Play Dis and Beach Ensemble looking as about six to one chances in the lines of most pricemakers. Colder weather, rain and fog have cut the crowds considerably in recent days, but Naragansett is certain to average over 00,000 a day, an excellent figure in the face of conditions. Tomorrows program will also be marked by an endurance test of two miles and seventy yards. Up and Up, which won his last, will be a warm favorite in this affair, which has attracted nine entries overnight.
