Winner entered to be claimed for ,250. WENT TO POST 4:21. AT POST 4 minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. MOUNT ECHO moved up gradually in the run through the back stretch, disposed of COMBATANT for the lead and, holding oh stubbornly despite bearing out, had enough left to withstand the fast finishing A. OCONNELL. The latter, steadied along back of the pace, came with a rush through the last three-sixteenths. COUNT RAE trailed in the run to the First turn, moved up steadily in the last five-sixteenths and, although finishing willingly, was unable to endanger the leaders. UNLAWFUL raced well placed throughout and had no excuses. IVORY TIP closed a good gap, although never a serious factor. MORALIST was outrun.
