FAIR GROUNDS INSPECTION Visitors Welcome at Crescent City-Track Sunday Special Race. ; Nine Horses to Compete Beginning in New Quarter Mile Chute J. D. Mooney to Bide. NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 18. Sunday will be inspection day at the Fair Grounds track, and several thousand racing devotees are expected to take advantage of the opportunity to visit the course. For the entertainment of the crowd the management will stage a quarter-mile dash from the new chute constructed at the head of the stretch, and at least nine horses and possibly more will take part in the contest. Although the contest will only be an exhibition, it will be staged under actual racing conditions and all the officials will be in their regular places. John Morrissey and his assistants will start the field from the stall gate. Placing judges Cliff Abbo, Fred Crafton and R. A. Leigh, Jr., will decide the finish, and stewards T. C. Bradley, J. T. Ireland and R. A. Leigh, Sr., will supervise the running of the race from their pagoda. Regardless of the closeness of the finish, the Thomas camera will be put into operation and an enlarged reproduction of the finish put on display for public inspection. The horses already assured for the impromptu race are Mrs. A. M. Creechs Grey Streak, Frank Serembas Dance Time and Nor Feng, N. J. Scallons Sister Polly, "But-sey" Hernandez Radio Charm, Steve Valen-tis Walter L., L. W. Johnsons Idle Midget, E. B. Shipps Black Anna and J. D. Mooney s Union. PROMBSNT RIDING MATERIAL. Mooney, who rode Black Gold in most of his important triumphs some years ago, will ride his own horse, while other jockeys expected to have mounts are Joe Cowley, Don Manifold, Robert Conley and William Mc-Cadden. The gates to the plant will be thrown open early so some of the visitors can watch the horses in their training maneuvers, while post time for the exhibition race will be 8 oclock. Horses continue to arrive, the latest to get in being a division of the stable which G. R. Bryson will race for E. K. Bryson. Included in the shipment which came in charge of Bill Strothers were two probable contenders for the Thanksgiving Handicap, White Cockade and Carvola, which raced here with success last winter. Carvola finished third to Waxwing on opening day a year ago. Others which made up the car of Brysons horses were Joanny, the two-year-olds Lucky Cloud, Conbee, Tolson, Blue Lassie, Cackle Time, Gold Lass, Rolls Easy and five yearlings. Three of the yearlings are by Wave On and the other two by Canter. Another car of fifteen or twenty horses belonging to the same establishment is due in a few days, as is Bryson himself. Two young riders who may be seen in colors early in the meeting are attached to the stable. They are Curtis Longa, who already has had several mounts, and Meryl Donoghue, who has yet to ride in a race.
