TODAYS FOOTBALL WINNERS? Notre Dame 1 to 2 to Beat Northwestern -Michigan and Wisconsin Favored to Win Their Games. The college football season of 1938 is fast nearing its end. In fact today closing games of several of the major teams will be played. In the Middle West Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Chicago, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana and Michigan, com-1 prising the Big Ten, play their final games of the season. Notre Dame, which meets Northwestern today, has one more game with Southern California at Los Angeles, on December 3. There are several big games scheduled for Thanksgiving Day and the following Saturday, but the majority of the major teams finish the season today. The outstanding event of this week-end is naturally the battle between Northwestern and Notre Dame with a capacity crowd expected to see the game, all seats being sold out. Notre Dame is a 1 to 2 shot. The Wisconsin-Minnesota clash at Madison is another outstanding game in which victory for Wisconsin will give the Badgers the best claim on the Big Ten title. Still another stellar attraction will be the Ohio State and Michigan game at Columbus, which is expected to have the largest crowd in attendance, some 86,000 tickets having been disposed of. Many expect the big line of Ohio State to hamper the speedy Michigan backs but the odds are in favor of Michigan just because of that speed.
